Rivals and Requests and Rejuvination
Don’t you hate it when you meet a rival and they end up being the nicest people ever, who you have so much in common with? well I met mine this weekend – she rocks. A big geek who loves horses, like me, we had a good time taking photos at the show together. V, if you’re reading this *wave* Hiya! I’m glad we met! Be the Bale! (Vanessa Macleod)
I’ve been asked to submit photos to two different magazines! Some photos to ShowHorse magazine, of a previous client and her horse, Palisco… and then also some photos of SHORA for an article that Noseweek is doing on the whole debacle there…
I’m pretty darn proud! And excited!
J and her family loved the party photos – i’ve just finished printing their orders, and i’ll get a rather decent amount for that.
I’ve also finished printing various orders (some rather large too!) including a whole set for D.N. at the Women’s Day champs last week.
I’m learning my camera’s issues – coming to terms with its limitations in terms of lens distance *sigh*… but the ladies from NVT say i should ask next time if i can get into the MIDDLE of the arena, instead of standing at the side… speaking of NVT! I was also asked to take photos at the show, of the new jumps and sponsored jumps, which will be used by the various companies as adverts!
So, i’m slowly getting there… right now i’m broke (i literally spent my last money on carrots on friday) but i know that VERY SOON, things are going to look up. I just have to keep my chin up (well, actually i mustn’t do that, or S will complain because it’s not the A.T way!) and be strong. I have support. I have the most amazing family. I have incredible friends. I even have wonderful rivals!
Learning to ride Catch properly too – i no longer panic when he throws a tantrum.. in fact, i laughed on thursday when he bucked and pranced. Not his fault, since all the boys were being overfed by 2 scoops, when the bran ran out last week!!! It’s been quite fun actually!

Another heartbreaking goodbye
Farewell to Cabrio.
An afternoon beach ride turned into a tragedy on sunday (30 july 2006).
A dog spooked him, he bucked Jen off and bolted home. He made it over the first road ok, but was hit by a car on the way over the second road, outside the Riding Centre.
Jen is inconsolable with grief. Cabbie and her had just started coming on. He was a difficult horse, and they’d finally come to an agreement and were starting to move up in the ranks. His dressage was improving and he was always a master at show jumping.
It’s such a shock. I saw him just a few weeks ago at the dressage. Accidents happen so fast.
But why him? It’s not fair. Poor poor Jen.
